COVID & Flu Vaccination

Protect yourself from COVID-19 & Flu with our NHS or private vaccination service. It’s suitable for adults aged 18 years old and over and is available in our pharmacy.

What is COVID-19 ?
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that is spread through coughs, sneezes and close contact with people who have the virus. Symptoms can include a high temperature or shivering, a new continuous cough, a sore throat, and a loss or change in sense of smell or taste.

Most people have mild symptoms and recover quickly, but some people can become severely ill. Occasionally, symptoms can persist and develop into a condition called “Long COVID”.
Private COVID-19 Vaccination
We offer a private COVID-19 Vaccination Service for adults and children aged 12 years and over. Please note that this is not an NHS service. The vaccination helps protect against catching COVID-19 and passing it on to others.

This service isn’t suitable for anyone who has had:
  • A COVID-19 vaccination within the last 3 months
  • An allergic reaction to any injections or vaccinations in the past
This isn’t a complete list and suitability will be checked before the vaccination is given.
A FREE NHS COVID-19 Vaccination
Is is possible at certain times of the year you will be able to get a FREE COVID-19 vaccination.

The eligibility criteria for the free NHS COVID vaccination is as follows:
  • 75 years old and over
  • Anyone who has a weakened immune system because of a health condition or medication
  • Reside in a care home for older adults.

  • Our pharmacy offers the free NHS service at certain times of the year.
Flu is predicted to be severe this year. It's important to get your flu vaccination and help you and your community stay healthy

The flu vaccine is given free on the NHS to people who:

  • Are 65 and over (including those who'll be 65 by 31 March).
  • Have certain health conditions.
  • Are pregnant.
  • Are in long-stay residential care.
  • Receive a carer's allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk if you get sick.
  • Live with someone who is more likely to get infections (such as someone who has HIV, has had a transplant or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis).
  • Are frontline health or social care workers.
